Financial Systems Analyst – Professional Services | Toronto ON

The Financial Systems Analyst will have firm-wide responsibility for a variety of tasks focused on the financial and time management systems, financial reporting with SQL/SSRS, incident and problem management, security, training, and documentation.

Strong team player with customer service mentality for both internal and external clients, as well as a strong sense of urgency is essential in this role.

 Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the financial systems subject matter expert for finance training modules
  • Prepares documentation and provides financial systems support to all firm members
  • Provides training on financial systems and highlights new features to the Training and IT teams and other firm members as required
  • Logs, resolves, and escalates issues with assistance from IT and external vendors
  • Maintenance, management, and facilitation of financial reports
  • Maintains security logs and application access
  • Assists with the year end close, rates review, and semi-annual security clean-up
  • Assist with testing applications, upgrades, change requests and customizations
  • Participates and coordinates special projects with internal and external partners
  • Takes an active role in financial systems issue prevention and detection
  • Follow project management best practices and participate in defining the scope of work, goals, and deliverables.  Outline detailed work plans which
  • identify and sequence the activities and resources needed to successfully complete the project.
  • May be required to perform other duties as required within the scope of the role

Core Skills & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ in a similar field at a professional services setting is required
  • Undergraduate degree in Business administration, Finance or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting software (Aderant is preferred)
  • Experience working with time management and reporting systems
  • SQL experience, report writing or other coding skills
  • Finance/Accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel knowledge is preferred
  • Project management
  • Experience with financial system implementations, workflows, and dashboards
  • Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands
  • Microsoft 365 suite of applications
  • Proven competence in investigating, addressing and resolving client issues in a timely manner
  • Must be able to run projects and tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to document financial processes and procedures
