Legal Assistant – Real Estate | Toronto ON

In this position you will work closely with a Partner and two Associates in the Real Estate practice group.  In addition to real estate experience, the right candidate will have strong technical skills and experience with Teraview, have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to problem solve.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Prepare closing documentation, reporting letters, statements of account and bank reports on title
  • Completing title searches, writ searches, registering and preparing deeds, requisitions, charges and discharges
  • Handle off title enquiry letters and off-title enquiry charts
  • Produce the highest quality of work
  • Handle daily administrative details
  • Manage duties related to accounting
  • Accountable for all work assigned
  • Arrange meetings

Core Skills & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ previous experience as a Legal Assistant in Real Estate
  • Successful completion of a related post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program
  • Flexible to work overtime as required
  • Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands
  • Microsoft 365 suite of applications
  • Experience with Teraview and specialized real estate software (e.g. conveyancer or lawyer done deal)
  • Flexible to work overtime as required
